Vogue calls model Jasmine Munting a ‘face to watch’

Jasmine Munting is not at all like her unfortunate surname would suggest. In fact, she’s 5ft 9in and gorgeous; with long limbs, flawless skin and a really cool individual style. She has enough modelling potential for fashion bible Vogue magazine to dub her a ‘face to watch’, and the last lucky people to receive this fantastic praise were mega-stars Lily Cole and Agyness Deyn.

As well as her striking good looks, Jasmine’s own modelling agency, Select Model Management, has praised her down-to-earth attitude, good sense of humour and quirky personal style.

At only 17, Jasmine (who goes by the name Frida when modelling) has already featured in campaigns for the likes of Topshop, Levi, and YSL. More to come, we expect…

Mia Wasikowska in Tim Burton’s upcoming Alice in Wonderland

As excitement builds over the cinema release of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland next month, the spotlight is also on newcomer Mia Wasikowska in the central and title role. As exotic as her surname may sound, Mia is actually from Canberra in Australia, and she’s tipped to be the next big thing.

Mia was a relative unknown in Hollywood until Burton singled her out to play the wide-eyed Alice in his weird and wacky but completely amazing-looking new film. After performing alongside Hollywood heavyweights Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter, Mia is also set to play Jane Eyre in a big screen adaptation of the Charlotte Brontë classic.

Mia is attracted to strong female roles, so expect big things from her in the future.

Emma Watson: the face of Burberry and Hollywood’s highest paid actress

After earning her fame and her fortune as a child star with the outrageously successful Harry Potter movies, precocious Emma Watson has grown up into a successful model as well. It seems like there’s nothing she can’t do at the moment, especially as she was recently named one of Hollywood’s highest paid actresses. Also, those who thought she was just another annoyingly talented child star will definitely be surprised by the latest Burberry ad campaign she stars in.

Emma suits the Burberry brand surprisingly well, freshening things up with her youthful appearance. She poses with male models of about her own age, and the stern, sexy poses and confident pouts are arresting to say the least.

Definitely one to look out for, if there’s any industry left that she hasn’t conquered.

Why you should love Amanda Seyfried

After the latest issue of Vanity Fair featured the nine young Hollywood starlets to watch, a list which included the likes of Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan and Evan Rachel Wood, I remembered how much I loved Amanda Seyfried in ‘Mamma Mia!’

For me, Amanda is the pick of the bunch (although I do quite like Mulligan and Stewart), and this is because of her interesting role choices after the all-singing, all-dancing smash hit. After predicatble roles in a couple of contemporary fairy tale films, she played second fiddle to a vampish Megan Fox in ‘Jennifer’s Body’, but still managed cause a stir due to a lesbian kiss scene.

The most interesting film to watch out for, however, is her risqué role in the upcoming arty sex thriller ‘Chloe’ alongside Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson.

Why should you love Amanda Seyfried? She takes chances, is drop-dead gorgeous and has the most crystal-clear singing voice I’ve heard in a long time.

Is Ke$ha really all she’s cracked up to be?

The new name on the music scene is Ke$ha, who shot to fame after performing the vocals on Flo Rida’s track ‘Right Round’ and releasing the annoyingly catchy ‘Tik Tok’, but is she really one to watch or just incredibly irritating?

Apart from her obvious problem with spelling, Ke$ha (I hate having to write her stylised name like that) has some other annoying qualities. She appears permanently hungover, seems fairly dependent on auto-tune technology on her album ‘Animal’, and generally comes off as a bit of a brat.

That said, she does have some redeeming qualities. A Lady Gaga-esque attitude to trendsetting fashion and outrageous style makes her a little more interesting, and I could not get pop single ‘Tik Tok’ out of my head for ages. She hasn’t got a bad voice either, if you ignore the grating ‘Valley girl’ accent.

My verdict: undecided.
